KATHMANDU, Aug 6: Police arrested a Pakistani national with Indian fake currency worth IRs 2.95 million from Classic Hotel, New Road on Monday.
Police acting on tip-off arrested Muhammad Mulla, a Pakistani national, and his accomplice Bashir Miya of Bara, Nepal.
Police hailed the arrest as a successful as they had succeeded in arresting a Pakistani national unlike earlier arrests. Police had only been able to arrest accomplices.
Nepal has been used as a transit point to enter India with fake currency, police claimed. Fake currencies are brought to Nepal from Pakistan and later taken to India benefiting the free border, police added.
