  At least 11 killed in Dhading bus mishap

DHADING, Aug 7:
At least 11 persons have been killed and two dozen others injured when a bus heading to Kathmandu from Bhairahawa skidded off the road and plunged into a river at Simle along the Prithvi Highway in Dhading on Tuesday morning.

According to inspector Hemant Thapa, chief at area police office, Gajuri, among the deceased nine are men and the rest, women. The deceased are Balaram Chaudhary of Kapilvastu, Mohan Nagarkoti of Rupandehi, Phanindra Subedi of Rupandehi, Parbati  Gharti of Gulmi, Sushil GM of Butwal-13, Rupandehi, Ranjan Thapa of Pokhara and Sher Bahadur Thapa of Butwal-15, Rupandehi.



Ten people were killed on the spot whereas the other died during the course of treatment at Shahid Memorial Hospital in Kalanki, Mahadevbesin, police said. According to police,
 the ill-fated bus plunged into the local Mahesh khola at around 4 am today.

All the injured have been ferried to Kathmandu for treatment.

Nepal police and Nepal Army personnel with the help of locals rescued the injured from the incident site.

All the bodies have been kept at local health center at Gajuri for post-mortem.
