  Two arrested for thrashing policeman

GAIGHAT, Udaypur, Aug 10: A group of youths have thrashed a police person at the Area Police Post of Triyuga Municipality Ward No. 9 in Udayapur district, Jit Bahadur Dahal, seriously injuring him on Thursday night.

According to the Area Police office, Udayapur, Bhupendra Chaudhary, 26, Binay Shakya, 18, and Devkanta Chaudhary, 19, who were drinking alcohol at a local hotel, attacked the police personnel with the bottles of beer while he was returning to Jaljale Police Post from duty.

Chief at the Jaljale Police Post, Rajendra Thapa, said that injured Dahal is undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Udayapur.

Thapa said that Police and locals arrested accused Devkanta and Binay while they were absconding after thrashing Dahal.

Another accused Bhupendra has been absconding, police said. Earlier too, the accused were also arrested in various charges, police added.Chief at the District Police Office, Udayapur, Narendra Upreti, said that investigation into the case was underway.
