KATHMANDU, Aug 11: “The Ultimate Photo Exhibition – II,” with the theme of Portrait Photography featuring 18 amateur photographers, kicked off last Friday at Galleria CUC (Momo Magic) in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu.

Sarad Rai, Academic Photographer at the Kathmandu University, and Hari Bangsha Kirant, President of Chomolunga UNESCO Center, jointly inaugurated the program.

The Image Park, a Nepal-based photography-promoting platform – which conducts various workshops, seminars, exhibitions, discussions, photo walks and international photos, undertakes to groom and showcase raw talents and share the experiences of both amateur and professional photographers - has organized this event for the second time.

Participants of “The Ultimate Photo Exhibition –II” pose for a group picture with Sarad Rai, Academic Photographer at the Kathmandu University and Hari Bangsha Kirant, President of Chomolunga UNESCO Center along with the organizers at The Image Park.

“This is a great platform for the youngsters to show off their talents. We plan to organize at least three exhibitions within this year. This being the second one, the third one will be organized sometime after two months,” said Sumit Shakya of The Image Park. He also added that a photo book at the end of the year is also scheduled.

The exhibition showcases the premium works of Abhishek Shah, Anil Parajuli, Bipa Tuladhar, Mohammad Chunnu, Durgesh Maharjan, Hikmat Basnet, Nimitta Shakya, Nischal Khakurel, Nisha Shakya, Niva Shakya, Resham Kumar Bishwokarma, Sandeep Prajapati, Santosh Shakya, Sujit Timila, Sumona Balla, Sunil Maharjan, Tashi Tewa Dolpo, and Ujjwal Gurung.

“The exhibition shows many unique and rarely seen photographs through the eyes of amateur photographers,” informed Shakya.

The exhibition is scheduled to end on August 24, 2012.
