  PM says ready to quit

REPUBLICA ONLINE

KASKI, Aug 13: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai said on Monday he no longer wants to continue with his office and that he is willing to step down today itself if opposition parties come up with this government’s alternative.

“It’s not that I want to hold on to this post ,” PM Bhattarai said, who looked exhausted and dejected, “I am still on the post just for the sake of peace and constitution.”

Speaking at the late Daya Shankar Memorial Journalism Award distribution function here in Pokhara, Bhattarai said this is not the time for engaging in blame game but for putting in a concerted effort to bail the country out of the current crisis.

He said his party is ready for both the options available—reinstatement of CA or new CA elections. The PM also said it is not his party but the Supreme Court that is responsible for the dissolution of CA.
