KATHMANDU, Aug 13: Finance Minister Barshaman Pun has said the government is serious towards the rights of media workers.

During his field inspection of the under-construction building of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) on the premises of Media Village on Monday, Minister Pun said the incumbent government is positive towards providing help for the building construction.

He pledged necessary support to media on behalf of the government.

"The incumbent government is friendly to media," said the Finance Minister.

On the occasion, FNJ President Shiva Gaunle submitted a report about the cost estimate for the building construction to the Finance Minister.

The estimated cost for the construction of the four–storey building along with a basement is Rs. 40.28 million. The construction of the building is expected to be completed within a year.
