KATHMANDU, Aug 16: A squad from Metropolitan Police Circle, New Baneshwar arrested two Nepal Army soldiers and three others for possessing 47 rounds of bullets of self-loading-rifle on Thursday.
According to police, the two soldiers have been handed over to the Military Police for further investigation and punishment according to the Military Act.
After a tip-off, Bishwa Kumar Bhujel, 31, Second Class Warrant Officer of Nepal Army, was arrested along with 29 rounds of bullets, police said.
Bhujel, working at the technical department of Nepal Army´s 11th Brigade, and resident of Koteshwar was arrested after tip-off by Nepal Army corporal Gyan Raj Katuwal, 31, who was himself carrying 18 rounds of ammunition hidden in a bag.
The others arrested Pravesh Karki, 16, of Okhaldhunga, Santosh Karki, 21, and Milan Kharel of Kathmandu-35, are under investigation according to the police.
