  YAN calls off Chitwan banda

REPUBLICA ONLINE

(Updated)
CHITWAN, Aug 17:
The CPN-UML affiliated youth Association Nepal (YAN) has called off its Chitwan banda considering the festival of Kushe Aunshi and the Father´s Day on Friday.

They announced withdrawal of the banda 10:30 onwards this morning.

“We called off the banda keeping in view the inconvenience possibly has to be faced by the general people due to the strike on the Kushe Aunshi and Father’s Day,” said, Prakash Dhungana, a central member of YAN.

Youths and students close to UML had earlier enforced banda in protest of Thursday’s baton-charge by police on their fellow cadres while they were making preparation for a demonstration against Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai in  Bharatpur.
