RSS

ITAHARI, Aug. 17: A serious problem has emerged in providing surgical treatment to patients at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) due to acute shortage of blood.

The BPKIHS saw complicated problems in the treatment due to short supply of blood to the hospital for the past few days, said Chairperson of Nepal Red Cross Society, Sunsari, Basudev Gautam.

The hospital requires daily 50 to 80 pints of blood and the acute shortage has hit the patients hard, said the BPKIHS sources.

Following serious complication in treatment caused by blood crisis in surgical and obstetric wards, the Red Cross Society, Sunsari has publically called upon social organizations to organize blood donation programme.
