FDRA, an alliance of 'corrupt': Oli

REPUBLICA ONLINE

BHAKTAPUR, Aug 19: CPN-UML leader KP Oli said on Sunday that the Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA), the newly formed front headed by UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, is an alliance of the ‘corrupt’ and that the grouping is not meant for consensus.

Speaking at a program in his residence in Bhaktapur, Oli said the alliance was an outcome of the four-point deal between the ruling partners, Maoists and Madhes-based parties .

Criticizing Dahal for his statement that his party would rule the country for another 25 years, Oli said the remark clearly shows Maoists are bent on capturing state powers. He also accused Dahal and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai of pushing the country into uncertainty.

Likewise, he said PM Bhattarai would be forced to step down if the president really wants him to. Oli also said only parliamentary elections would be able to tackle the existing problems in the country.
