KATHMANDU, Aug 19: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai is leaving for Tehran, the capital of Iran, on August 29 to participate in the 16th summit conference of the countries of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
The summit is to be held from August 30 and 31. Prime minister´s daughter Manushi Yami will also be accompanied with the prime minister.
During the visit, PM Bhattarai will meet Iranian President Mahamoud Ahamadinezad and other heads of states and governments during his visit, said Chief Protocol Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nirajan Man Singh Basnet.
Dr. Basnet informed that Nepali officials at the UN Mission were asked to adjust timetable for other bilateral meetings of PM Bhattarai. PM will return home on September 1.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayankaji Shrestha will leave for Tehran on August 27. He will participate in the minister level meeting of the conference.
The meeting will be held on August 28 and 29. Likewise, a delegation led by Foreign Secretary Durga Prasad Bhattarai will leave on August 25 towards the venue. The meeting of the officials will be held on August 26 and 27.
