DAMAK, Aug 28: Politburo member of the CPN-UML, Surendra Prasad Pandey, has expressed the view that the country is being trapped into a crisis due to growing misunderstandings among the political parties.
At a news conference organized by the Jhapa chapter of the Press Chautari at Damak Tuesday morning, Pandey said that the country would face further constitutional crisis if a consensus was not forged among political parties.
Leader Pandey stressed the need of political consensus as quickly as possible to avoid possible clashes between the President and the Prime Minister. Prolonged political and constitutional vacuum would lead the country to a grave accident, he added.
On a different note, he said that there was no alternative for the parties to forging a consensus in the context that there is caretaker government and no parliament in the country.
Pandey urged the political parties to find out a solution by breaking the political deadlock.Saying all parties should be flexible for the consensus, he stressed that all should be ready for consensus by giving up their stances.
The UML politburo member said that there was a need of holding discussions about the resignation of the Prime Minister and formation of a consensus government simultaneously.
