  Strike halts works in pharmaceutical in Birgunj

BIRGUNJ (Parsa), Aug. 29: Production from GD Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd based in Birgunj has halted due to the workers´ agitation.

Workers associated with the Nepal Independent Chemical and Iron Workers Union, Pharmaceuticals unit committee are on a strike with seven-point demands.

Implementation of the Labour Act, permanent status to those workers completing 240 days of work, implementation of the past agreement are among those demands put forth by the agitating workers.

Business of the medicine factory has been negatively affected due to frequent workers´ strikes.

The factory is not able to run its business smoothly for the past one month due to non-cooperation from its workers, according to the factory management
