PARSA, Birgunj, Sept 1: Two schoolgirls abducted from Kathmandu have been rescued from Raxaul in India.
Kanchan Regmi, 14, of Kapan -3 and Kabita Ramtel, 15, of Kalopul, Kathmandu, both students of Chahana English Higher Secondary school at Kapan, Chabahil of Kathmandu were rescued last night.
Parsa police brought them to Birgunj after coordinating with the Raxaul police.
The girls said one unknown masked woman had asked them where they were going at the school gate, while returning from school, and had touched on the cheeks, Thursday afternoon, but after that they only came to consciousness in Raxaul Friday morning.
Then they ran away four kms west, where an unknown family sheltered them and contacted with family, and then the Indian police handed them over to Nepal Police.
District Police Office Inspector Manohar Bhatta said Indian police informed them and he brought the girls and that the relatives have come here to receive them.
