NADA Auto Show from Sept 19

REPUBLICA

KATHMANDU, Sept 2: The Nepal Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) is organizing the 8th NADA Auto Show 2012 at Bhrkuti Mandap Exhibition Hall from September 19 to 23.

The show, which used to be biannual until 2011, is being organized jointly by NADA and Global Exposition & Management Services (GEMS).

Saurav Jyoti, president of NADA, said safety and clean and green city will be the themes for this year´s auto show. “Road safety and clean and green city are themes for this year. We selected these themes to raise awareness among general public about road safety and traffic discipline as the number of road accidents is increasing,” said Jyoti.

At the auto show, visitors can get information about new launches, automobile technology, components, financing, insurance and exchange facility. A total of 43 companies, including 24 automobile brands, are participating in the event. Component makers, automobile dealers and firms dealing on generators, lubricants and other accessories will also have stalls in the event.

Jyoti said the event will bring together automobile dealers and potential buyers under one roof at a time when automobile sales is going down.
According to the association, automobiles sales went by 19 percent in 2011/12.

“NADA Auto Show will provide an appropriate platform for those involved in automobile business to promote their products and services. The event will also be an ideal place for potential buyers to know, feel and decide about their vehicle,” said Deepak Thapa, coordinator of the expo and general secretary of NADA.

Automobile manufacturers, dealers and distributors from Nepal, India, China, South Korea, Malaysia, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Japan, Taiwan and United States, among others will display their products and services at the expo.

“Besides, the expo will have a separate ´Made in Nepal´ pavilion to promote automotive products and services made in the country,” Thapa said.

The organizers are putting classical and vintage cars on display during the expo. Likewise, different side events like children amusement, virtual show, live music, auto quiz and safety riding, among others will be organized during the event.

More than 50,000 visitors are expected to turn up during at the expo venue during the five-day event.
