DHANGADI, Sept 7: Many drug stores in Kailali district are found selling date-expired medicines, despite knowing their harm on human health.
A joint monitoring team of the Department of Drug Administration, Kailali office and the District Joint Market Monitoring Committee found this while carrying out monitoring of the drug stores in various places of the district.
The monitoring team also confiscated various date-expired medicines from the shelves of local drug stores.
The team also found that untrained people were selling medicines and the medicines were sold at much higher price than the price mentioned in the label. Similarly, several drug stores were found operating without renewing their operating license.
It was also found that some people were running pathology labs without registering with the district authorities.
The team has been monitoring drug stores and medical labs in Kailali and Kanchanpur districts since some days back.
