  BUSINESS BRIEFS: Global IME opens branch in Bhaktapur

KATHMANDU, Sept 10: Global IME Bank opened a new branch office in Suryabinayak of Bhaktapur on Monday. The new office was jointly inaugurated by Chandra Prasad Dhakal, chairman of the bank, and Jitendra Bahadur Bhandari, chief district officer of Bhaktapur, says a bank statement.

The new branch offers all regular banking services and any branch banking service (ABBS) as well. The bank is currently extending services with a network of 62 branch offices located in places as remote as Rukum and Rolpa.

The branch has so far collected deposits of Rs 27 billion and extended Rs 21 billion in credit. The bank has a customer base of 255,000.

Berger opens regional office in Biratnagar

KATHMANDU
: Berger (J&N) Nepal has opened regional office and sales depot at Munalpath in Birtnagar to ensure better service to the dealers and customers. According to a press statement, the regional office would stock all products on offer from Berger and would be serving for all business operations to the dealers. Berger is the second largest paint manufacturer in Nepal with an estimated market share of about 25 percent.

Berger has also been involved in various social programs such as ´Celebrating Womanhood Navadevi Awards´, maintaining the historical monument of Bhimsen Stambha , Dharara and collaborating with the traffic police in Kathmandu and Pokhara to increase traffic awareness among others said the statement.

Artus Group turns four

KATHMANDU
: Artus Group has organized a workshop on ´Youth Capacity Development´ for 50 young graduates free of cost as part of its CSR initiative. Issuing a press statement, the Group said the workshop was organized to mark its third anniversary. “The program was aimed at enhancing the capacity of participants to understand recruitment psychology and project themselves in the most professional manner in recruitment process,” the statement said.

"One of the major causes of unemployment is not just the lack of relevant skills and attitude but inability to demonstrate their capability in job selection process,” the statement quoted Jwolit Budhathoki, managing director of Artus Group, as saying. Dipesh Shrestha from Surya Nepal and Subash Thapa from MAW Enterprises among others were the resource persons at the workshop.
