KATHMANDU, Sept 14: Home Secretary Nabin Kumar Ghimire conferred insignia on newly appointed Inspector General of Nepal Police Kuber Singh Rana amid a function, on Friday.

The government on Thursday had elevated Rana to the top post. He was the senior-most among the three additional inspector generals (AIGs) contending for the post, others being Nawaraj Dhakal and Bhisma Prasai.

On the occasion, IGP Rana expressed his commitment that he would leave no stone unturned to maintain law and order in the country. He succeeded Rabindra Pratap Rana as police chief and is the 23rd IGP of Nepal Police.
