POKHARA, Sept. 17: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that a high-level Nepalis delegation would be sent to China next week to resolve the difficulties seen in regional-level international airport construction in Pokhara.
The Prime Minister made such statement at a program in Pokhara on Monday urging the agitating groups to withdraw all the protest programmes as the construction process has already started.
The Prime Minister said that two layers of perceptions were seen regarding the level of the international airport while preparing its construction estimate, creating some confusion.
Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai said that construction of the international airport was slightly delayed due to some procedural complexities on loan assistance from the Export Import Bank of China.
Locals of Pokhara have been staging a relay hunger strike for weeks by forming International Airport Construction Concerns Committee to exert pressure on the government for the construction of the international airport.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that issue would be resolved soon by holding fresh discussions with the high-level Chinese representatives and added that he had also discussed with official concerned and Chinese representatives on Sunday.
