Not prez, but parties should be active: Minister Pun

REPUBLICA ONLINE

BAGLUNG, Sept 18: Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun said on Tuesday it would be a violation of the constitution should the president become active in the present situation.

Speaking at a program organized by the Baglung chapter of Revolutionary Journalists Association, he said, "To give the country a political outlet, the political parties should be active, not the president, as it is parties that actually can resolve the current impasse through dialogue."

During the program, he also expressed his opinion that there is no alternative to reinstating the dissolved Constituent Assembly for ending the current deadlock. Pun also stressed that there is no relevance of CPN-Maoist´s demand for a round table conference
