  Corporate Briefs: 33rd IME center in Jhapa

KATHMANDU, Sept 18: IME has opened its 33rd IME Center in Chandragadhi, Jhapa. Issuing a statement, the company said Jeevan Prakash Sitaula, local development officer (LDO) of Jhapa, inaugurated the centre amid a funtion on Tuesday.

The company opened the new center as a part of its target to open IME 100 centres across the country within the current fiscal year. “IME Centers are exclusive agent outlets that are aimed at enhancing IME customers´ experinece through exquisite customer services and retail atmospheres,” the statement states.

IME is in the business of remittance solutions specializing in the delivery of money transfer services to families and friends around the globe.

NMB Bank, Samriddha Pahad Project signs MoU
KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): NMB Bank has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Samriddha Pahad Project -- an initiative of the Blue Berry Hill Charitable Trust, UK -- aiming to increase access to finance among rural youths. Under the agreement, the bank said in a press statement, it would focus on exploring opportunities to increasing access to finance for rural youths, micro and small entrepreneurs (MSEs).

"Mainly the MSEs that aim to promote access to financial services in hills and mountains community will be provided with the support to build their capacity, financial literacy and enhance their livelihood skills," reads the statement. The bank adds that the signing of the MoU was part of its focus on rural banking and to serve the unbanked population of the country. NMB Bank operates with 20 branches, one extension counter and 23 ATM outlets across the country.
