It takes less than a month to topple govt: Gajurel

REPUBLICA ONLINE

KATHMANDU, Sept 25: CPN-Maoist Vice-chairman CP Gajurel said on Tuesday that the opposition parties would take no more than a month to bring down the current government and added they would come up with a clear-cut protest program after their next meeting scheduled for Thursday.

“We will plan such a protest program that the government would not last more than a month, “said Gajurel, speaking at a program in the Reporters Club Nepal in the capital, adding that the formation of consensus government and its leadership would be discussed after forcing the incumbent government out.

“No discussion has been held, yet, on who should lead the next government. That will be decided upon the successful removal of Baburamji (Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai) from his post,” Gajurel said.

He further said his party also might lay claim to the PM’s post, adding, for now, they had no option but to resort to stir as UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and his deputy Bhattarai did not show any indication of exiting from power.
