DANG, Sept 27: Vice-president Parmananda Jha has said President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, as the head of state, might take measures, if deemed necessary, to end the current political crisis.
“But that would not be a drastic step as rumored in the media. The president also has to collaborate with the political parties for consensus,” Jha said speaking at a program organized by the Dang chapter of Reporters Club Nepal here in the district on Wednesday.
The vice-president expressed concerns over the political parties not consulting him till now on the existing crisis in the country. “The political parties so far have not felt a need of consultation with the vice-president on the country’s problems, “Jha said.
He said there also has been no consultation between him and the president on the current crisis and expressed his hope that the president would take step staying within constitutional limits.
Jha also expressed frustration over the parties’ failure to deliver in the aftermath of Constituent Assembly dissolution and said the parties have yet to earn trust. “The CA got dissolved on May 28. There were hopes, but nothing has happened in the last four months,” Jha lamented.
