KATHMANDU Oct 1: Nepal Handball Association (NHA) is organizing the First U-20 Women´s Open National Handball Championship at the Nepal Police Academy premises in Maharajgunj from Tuesday.
The event will also serve as the selection tournament for International Handball Federation Challenge Trophy scheduled to be held in Kathmandu from December 12-18. Altogether nine teams from Kathmandu, Kaski, Mahottari, Morang, Udayapur, Dolakha, Kailali and Dang will compete in the event to be held under league-cum-knockout format.
"We will select about 20 girl players and conduct a closed camp training from October 17,” said NHA President Tej Gurung. According to Gurung, male players will be selected on the basis of their performance during the Sixth National Games.
