National badminton player dies in car crash

SANTOSH POKHAREL

POKHARA, Oct 12: Mohan Nepali, a National badminton player, died in a car accident on Friday. The 21 years old Nepali was killed in the mishap that took place at zero kilometers in Pokhara, according to Police.

Rabindra Poudel, the spokesperson of Kaski Police, said that Nepali himself was driving the car (BA 8 Cha 1800) while heading home at Srijana Chowk from Baidam.

His car, which was apparently overspeeding, slammed into a parked bus, killing Nepali on the spot. Other three people in the car have sustained minor injuries.

“The car hit the bus as it was in high speed and went out of control,” said Poudel. “With the death of Nepali, the country has lost a promising badminton player,” a member of Kaski Badminton Association Manoj Shrestha said.
