KATHMANDU, Oct 13: Maitidevi Complex has started its operation from Saturday with an objective of making Dashain shopping easier for people in the area.
The complex is spread over an area of 22,000 square feet and has 30 shops, a lounge and a banquet along with office space for corporate houses.

On the occasion of its opening, people visiting the complex on Saturday were provided a coupon for a lucky draw. The winners of the lucky draw will get various attractive door prizes.

According to Nishan Shrestha, managing director of the complex, footfall of around 2,500 was recorded on the opening day. He said the ground floor and the first floor has stores dealing with readymade garments, shoes, saris, kurtha salwars, watches, sunglasses, kid´s apparels, and a photo studio.

The second floor is for corporate offices while the third floor consists of lounge and banquet named The Bottles Lounge and Banquet. The lounge spread in an area of 4,000 square feet has the capacity to accomodate around 250 people.

“We will soon be adding grocery, game zone and beauty parlor in the complex. We are also planning to open a cinema hall with a capacity of accommodating 200 viewers,” said Shrestha.

Shrestha claimed the complex is the first in the area.

“As people are very addicted to internet these days, we have made the complex a free wi fi area so that customers visiting our complex can use internet even while shopping,” said Shrestha.

The complex has also launched a scheme for the festive season named ´Dashain Tihar Dhamaka´ in which customers buying goods worth Rs 500 and above will get a coupon.

According to Shrestha, through the coupon customers can win various home appliances like washing machine, refrigerator, vacuum cleaner, rice cooker, DVD player, music system, fan, iron and clock among others.
