SANKHUWASABHA, Oct 14: Loss worth over Rs 40 million was incurred due to landslide and flood that occurred in Barhabise and Dhupu of Sankhuwasabha a week ago, according to the information provided by local civil society to the local administration.
At least eight people lost their lives and two sustained critical injuries in the landslide.
The landslide caused damages to 20 households and swept away livestock and two houses.
Landslide victims of Barhabise bazaar area had provided details of loss worth over Rs 40 million to the District Administration Office, Sankhuwasabha.
Details of loss caused by landslide in Dhupu Jyamire-8 have yet to be established.
A team of Finance Minister and Home Minister had directed the local administration to provide relief to landslide victims some days ago.
