Big 3 holding country hostage of indecision: Gachchhadar
REPUBLICA
KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar has accused the three major political parties --UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML-- of holding the country hostage of indecision.
Talking to media persons in Biratnagar on Tuesday, Gachchhadar stated that the major three parties were not clear about how to end the present political deadlock. "Sometime they advocate for revival of the Constituent Assembly (CA) and sometimes talk about holding fresh election," he added.
Gachchhadar, who is also the chairman of Madhesi People´s Right Forum-Democratic (MPRF-D), said holding fresh CA election was the best option for ending the current political deadlock.
He maintained that the present government would not step down until political parties reach a package deal on all issues. He also stressed the need for a government led by Madhes-based political parties.
In a separate context, he stated that the president would not take any step without political consensus. "The president will not take any step just because some political parties are inciting him to do so," Gachchhadar said, adding, "He (president) knows the circumstances very well."
