BIRATNAGAR, Oct 19: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Minendra Rijal on Friday accused UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal of pushing the country into uncertainty for his personal ambition to become president.
Speaking at a press conference organized by Press Union here, Rijal said, “Maoists don’t want anything except the presidential post,” adding, “therefore, they are longing for such a constitution that would provide president with executive powers.”
However, former minister Rijal predicated that UCPN Maoist chief’s aspiration to become president would not be fulfilled as he would face a defeat in presidential elections if ever held.
He further stressed on the need of the formation of an election government prior to going to elections to the new Constituent Assembly.
