  Youth knifed to death over Dashain show row

BANEPA, Oct 24: A youth has been stabbed to death after a dispute over a Dashain cultural show in Chalal Ganeshstha in Kavre, on Wednesday.

A gang knifed Manjit Tamang, 23, of Chyasingkharka-9 during a program that was being held on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami at the school in the village, Khem Acharya, Banepa police chief, said.

Critically injured, Tamang succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to Banepa for treatment. His body has been kept at Sheer Memorial Hospital, Banepa.

Rana Bahadur Tamang, 55, of the same village, who is among the four that have been identified as the assailants, has been arrested, Acharya said.
 
Police have launched a manhunt to track down and nab the other three absconding attackers, he added.
