BIRATNAGAR, Oct 26: The Muslim community of Biratnagar are celebrating the Bakrid (Eid-al -Adha), one of the important festivals of the Muslims, with great enthusiasm on Saturday.
The Muslim people make qurbani (sacrifices) on the occasion of this festival that falls just 70 days after the Eid ul-Fitr. The Muslims go for Hajj pilgrimage to Makka Medina on the same occasion. For a Muslim the Hajj is the ultimate act of worship to Prophet Mohammed.
The festival is also known as the ´Feast of the Sacrifice´. On the occasion, the Muslims visit the Mosque, chant Namaj and take delicious food. They need not to observe fasting during this festival.
