KATHMANDU, Nov 1: The first edition of KU Cup T20 Cricket Tournament will be held from November 3 to 12 at the Kathmandu University (KU) ground in Dhulikhel. Organizing a press conference on Thursday, tournament coordinator Rakesh Dhungel informed that eight teams affiliated to Kathmandu University will vie in the event.

"The event is organized with the view to recognize the talent of players and increase interaction among students of various colleges," said Dhungel. The participating teams are divided into two groups with four teams in each group.

Little Angel´s College of Management, KU Medical School, Kathmandu College of Management and Nepal Medical College are placed in group A and the group B consists of National College, KU Central Campus, Nepal College of Management and Kantipur Dental College.

The winner and the runner up of each group will advance into semifinal. The winner and runner up of the final will be given trophies and certificates. Similarly, best batsman, best bowler, man of the series and man-of-the-match of each match will also be awarded.

Bogati´s poor performance on first day

KATHMANDU
: Nepali player Bikash Bogati carded 14-over 86 on the opening day of the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship held at the Amata Spring Country Club in Bangkok, Thailand on Thursday. Bogati was tied at 108th position with Qatari Ali Abdulla Al Mufleh and Soti Dinki of Papua New Guinea after a poor round of golf Thursday. Bikash took the turn at six-over 42 before faring even worse score of eight-over 44 in the next nine holes. In total 120 players from 36 countries are taking part in the annual tournament. Only 60 golfers will make cut for the final two rounds.
