RSS

SOLUKHUMBHU, Nov 6: Number of people receiving passport is found higher than those obtaining citizenship certificate from District Administration Office (DAO), Solukhumbu this year.

According to statistics maintained at DAO, Sankhuwasabha, some 185 people had obtained citizenship certificate while the number is 192 in the case of passport during a month (mid-September to mid-October).

Likewise, 150 had obtained citizenship card and 254 applicants got passport during an earlier month (mid-August to mid-September).

Score of people applying for passport has increased than that was in last year, said Chief District Officer Bhawani Prasad Parajuli.

The number of passport recipients might have gone up with the onset of issuance of Machine Readable Passport (MRP) from the district, he added.
