KATHMANDU, Nov. 13: President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav today held discussions with leaders of major political parties including the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) at a time when political crisis has been deepening.

The meeting held at the Presidential Palace, Sheetal Niwas, was focused on budget to be presented by the government, current political crisis and formation of a national consensus government, among others.

The meeting held from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon today could not reach any conclusion though discussion was held on all issues, it is learnt.

Talking to media persons after the meeting, the leaders said that President Dr. Yadav called them to greet them on the occasion of Tihar festival.

Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, said that they held discussions with the President on political stalemate.

However, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala and CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal said that President Dr. Yadav had called them for exchanging greetings on the occasion of Tihar and they came to accept it.

Chairman of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic), Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, said that they held talks on ending all political stalemate by the end of November and added that all leaders agreed on it.

During the meeting, President Dr. Yadav once again urged leaders of political parties to bring budget by forging political consensus and resolve political crisis, it is learnt.

Stating that political crisis has been deepened and risk of loosing achievements gained from people´s movement has arisen, the President urged the change-seeking powers to move the country ahead with unity.

He said consensus should be needed on budget as it is a compulsion for nation and urged political parties not to make it the issue of political wrangling.

The government and nation have a compulsion to present budget immediately as the term of one-third budget presented by the government is ending by mid-November.

President Dr. Yadav urged leaders of political parties once again to end all disputes on consensus in the context that the opposition parties had urged the President not to accept the budget made without consensus and the government said that it will bring the budget at any cost as it was a nation´s need.

Gachchhadar said the President urged them to give an outlet to the country by resolving all disputed issues on consensus.
