KATHMANDU, Nov 26: Defending champion and host St Xavier´s registered a huge margin win over Triyog High School on Monday in the 17th Fr Moran Memorial Invitational Inter-school Football Tournament being held at its ground in Godavari, Lalitpur. Host thrashed Triyog 11-0. Buddhinath Murmu netted five goals while Mausam Shrestha scored four and Rupesh Yadav two goals. In other matches, Pushpanjali and Kathmandu University High School emerged victorious.
Pushpanjali edged past St Xavier´s, Jawalakhel 1-0 with the lone goal coming from Rubin Karki. KU School defeated Nepal APF School 4-1. Hiten Dahal scored twice for the winning team while Samyak Khadka and Rahul Shrestha scored one apiece.
Giri wins bronze
KATHMANDU: Nepali players Sargam Giri won bronze medal in the Fifth World Pankration Champion held in Lekonia, Greece, according to a bulletin issued by the National Sports Council. Giri claimed bronze in men´s 65 kg category defeating players from Azerbaijan and Iran. The event was held from November 12-18.
