Would you go back to school?

REPUBLICA

KATHMANDU, Nov 28: We hated it when we were in school and always wondered when we would start living like adults. Work, earn, spend, shop, party, make decisions and all those things that adults did, and we always wanted to do the very things.

But now that we are one, we want to go back to school because it’s not easy and not always fun being adult, isn’t it?

We asked on our Facebook page whether if one would want to go back to school if given a choice, and the answer was quite obvious.
Mandeep Bashistha says that he would love to live his school life again. “It was the best life I have ever had. I always wanted my school to end when I was in one, and now I feel like going back. That’s life, I guess!” he says.

Orion White too wants to go back to school but he would like to avoid some mistakes that he made if he were to go back. “My mistakes made me who I’m today and those gaffes taught me my faults and taught me that I’m not perfect. I would also apologize to all my friends whom I hurt and start all over again,” says White. He adds that school is a second home and home is where the heart is, and we wouldn’t disagree with that!

However, Bijay Prakash Mainali, Yogesh Kumar Prasai, and Kuber Sodari wouldn’t want to go back to school.

“I think college is more fun than school. We don’t have to do homework and complete assignments and we can have hair as long as we want, and also be fashionable,” shares Bijay.

But the fact remains that even in college, we have to do assignments and, might we add, long and difficult ones.
Yogesh understands people’s sentiment of missing school life but he says that life is about living in the present and not dreaming of the past.

“In my eyes, going back to school is like trying to avoid responsibilities and challenges that come with age and being a coward and correct mistakes and mending life,” he opines.
Kuber agrees with what Yogesh says and adds that time never stops, the past is gone, the future is uncertain and we should live and enjoy our present to ensure that in future we don’t repeat our past mistakes.
