  Budhanilkantha School gets new principal

REPUBLICA

KATHMANDU, Nov 30: Amid the controversy sorrounding the appointment of new principal, Keshar Bahadur Khulal has taken charge as the new executive chief of Buddhanilkantha School on Friday.

Khulal, who had been serving as the vice-principal of the school, is himself a product of the same institution.

Buddhanilkantha School Management Committee, which is led by the education secretary at the Ministry of Education (MoE), appointed Khulal as per the recommendation of the Principal Selection Committee, informed the committee member Kamlesh Kumar Sinha.

Right after assuming the post, Khulal said he would be committed to set the international standard of the school.

Narayan Prasad Sharma, the former principal of the school since 1995, had to quit over allegations of irregularities and is facing several charges related to misuse of authority.

National Vigilance Centre on August 12 directed the MoE to investigate the issue and take action against Sharma.
