BIZ BRIEFS: Everest Bank launches 'Griha Prabesh Yojana'

KATHMANDU: Everest Bank has launched a scheme called ´Griha Prabesh Yojana´, under which customers can avail housing loan to purchase, construct, repair and renovate a residential building or an apartment. “The scheme is targeted to those who want to build or purchase an ideal home or apartment in the city,” said a statement issued by the bank.
This product comes with floating and fixed interest rate options. In case of floating option, interest rate starts at 9.99 percent per annum. And in the case of fixed option, the annual rate starts at 10.50 percent and will be valid for the first three years. “Customers also have the option to switch to either model,” the statement said. These loans come with a processing fee of 0.50 percent of the credit amount. The tenure ranges from five years to 15 years.
Elephant race to be held in Sauraha
KATHMANDU: With the objective to promote tourism in Sauraha, Regional Hotel Association, Chitwan is organizing international elephant race competition on December 26 to 28, a press statement of the association said. The statement said more than 20 elephants will participate in the competition. He said that the association was also hosting football competition amongst elephant calves. “Elephant beauty contest is also another attraction of the event,” the statement said adding that hotels and restaurants in Sauraha were offering special discounts on the occasion
