KATHMANDU, Dec. 5: The 10th Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF) is to take place here from December 7 to 11.
Altogether 62 documentaries, fiction, short films, animation films will be screened during the festival to be held at the City Hall and Nepal Tourism Board, according to information shared at a press conference organized in the capital on Wednesday by the organizers, Himal Association.
Of the 18 films under the international competitive category, the first, second and third would bag a cash prize of 1,500, 1,000 and 500 US dollars respectively.
Likewise the best documentary, under the Nepal panorama category, will receive Rs. 50,000 while the best film among fiction would be awarded Rs. 30,000 by the Film Development Board.
Speaking at the press conference, Chairperson of KIMFF Basant Thapa an additional attraction for this year is the screening of the ten best films from the "Educating Nepal" short film competition held earlier this year.
The best three among the top ten short films will receive a cash prize of Rs. 75,000, Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 30,000 respectively.
Also part of the festival is interaction on films, photography, book fair and documentary workshop
