KHAJURA (Banke), Dec. 11: Divorced women from the Muslim community in Banke district have demanded that they should get special perks and facilities from the state.
They have submitted a seven-point memorandum to the government through the local bodies to pile pressure for addressing the demands.
They have demanded allowance as disabled and single women are getting from the state, management of quota system up to higher education to their children and guarantee of employment opportunity to the divorced women.
According to information made available by the Nepal Muslim Society Development Center, the number of Muslim divorcees is around 324 in the district.
