We need package deal, soon enough: PM

REPUBLICA ONLINE

KATHMANDU, Dec 14: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai said on Friday the parties will have to strike a package deal and end the existing crisis, soon enough.

“I have repeatedly said as prime minister, I m ready to take up any role and make any sacrifice for that,” Bhattarai said addressing the 18th Metropolitan Day in the capital.

The PM said only new elections could put an end to the country’s prolonged transition and serve as an outlet for current imbroglio. He reiterated the government call for a successful holding of new polls in May.

Likewise, Bhattarai said the local bodies are functioning without elected representatives for over a decade now due to the country’s transitional phase. He, however, said his government has been seriously monitoring incidents of funds misappropriation at local bodies in recent times.
