CPN-ML gives clean-chit to Belbase, Kafle in bribe scandal

RAMESH KUMAR POUDEL

CHITWAN, Dec 18: The CPN-ML on Tuesday has given a clean chit to its alternative central committee member and former minister Kumar Belbase, who had earlier forced to resign on October 21 from the post of Minister for Labor and Employment over his alleged involvement in bribery.

A meeting of the organizing committee of the sixth national conference of the party being held here at Narayngadh also decided to give clean chit to another alternative central member of the party Bhaskar Kafle Who had allegedly asked bribe on behalf of Belbase.

In one of the videos posted on a Nepali news website, Belbase´s aide Kafle, was seen asking for Rs. 250,000 to register a recruitment agency.

“The accusation of bribery against both the leaders is baseless as they were not found to have taken the bribe from anybody,” reads the statement issued after the meeting.
