Woman in labor dies of excessive bleeding

DILIP POUDEL

BAGLUNG, Dec 25: A woman lost her life after excessive bleeding during child birth as there was no one around to take care of her. Mina Kaucha, 30, of Jaljala -6, who died of excessive bleeding, had not informed about her condition to her relatives and gave birth to a child in bathroom, according to her relatives.

Mina, a mother of two, had given birth to her third child at around 7 am in the morning. Neighbors had come to rescue Mina from the bathroom after the new born began crying.

“Half -conscious Mina unlocked the bathroom door as we were preparing to break it,” said Kopila Aryal, a neighbor. She had not even informed her husband about her situation.

“Had she informed me about her situation, I would have rushed her to the hospital,” said Mina´s husband Shyam. Neighbors had rushed Mina to the Bijaya Diagnosis Center at Bami of Gulmi but she was referred to Palpa hospital. She died before she could be taken to the hospital.
