  Kanti Hospital gets 15 emergency beds

KATHMANDU, Dec. 25: The Kanti Children´s Hospital has added 15 more emergency beds to its pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) from Tuesday.

Children of poor people from rural areas are expected to benefit from the additional 15 beds in the hospital.

The total number of beds in the emergency unit of the hospital has now reached 21.

Similarly, the hospital has for the first time set up the blood transfusion units.

Director of the hospital senior paediatric Dr R P Bichchha said that some six children need treatment with blood transfusion every day.

Bichchha said, "Kanti Children´s Hospital has got a new face from today."

Minister for Health and Population Rajendra Mahato inaugurated both the services amid a function in the capital on Tuesday.
