KATHMANDU, Dec 26: All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) started a special training camp for the young players in the capital on Wednesday under the sponsorship of Coca-Cola, the product of Bottlers Nepal Pvt Ltd.
Four players each from the top eight teams of the Coca-Cola Inter School National Football Tournament have been invited to participate in the two-day training camp.
According to ANFA General Secretary Dhirendra Pradhan, national team captain Sagar Thapa and former captains Raju Kaji Shakya, Hari Khadka and Rakesh Shrestha will share their experiences with the young footballers. Meanwhile, football coaches Bal Gopal Maharjan, Sunil Shrestha, Mrigendra Mishra and Shakya would teach basic football techniques to the young footballers at the ANFA Complex, Lalitpur.
Bottlers Nepal´s Country Marketing Manager Sachin Shrestha said that the tournament and the training program would help produce footballers from the grassroots level.
ANFA CEO Indra Man Tuladhar said that the association is organizing the training camp with the hope of producing new talents though it was not in the annual calendar of ANFA. "We have organized the training to motivate and teach basic football skills to the young talents," said Tuladhar.
Army School, Bhaktapur; Path Finder School, Kathmandu; Himshikhar Boarding School, Sunsari and Army School, Pokhara were the top four teams in boys´ section of the tournament that concluded some four months ago.
Likewise, Deepjyoti Bidyashram, Banke; JP High School, Kathmandu; Tops Higher Secondary, Kaski and Public Higher Secondary, Sunsari were the top four teams in girls´ section of the tournament.
