  Agrawal appointed new NTV chairman

KATHMANDU, Dec 27: A cabinet meeting Thursday appointed Sitaram Agrawal the new chairman of Nepal Television.

The meeting also approved Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Gaurav Shumsher Rana ´s visit to India beginning January 6. Likewise, the meeting decided to give an extra allowance of Rs 1500 to VDC secretaries. VDC chairmen used to get the allowance, earlier.

The meeting also decided to approve the resignation of Janak Raj Joshi as vice chairman of Poverty Alleviation Fund.

Similarly, the meeting decided to provide Rs 150,000 as relief to the woman who was robbed of her cash and sexually exploited by some immigration staff, while returning from foreign employment in Saudi Arabia, at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu.
