DAMAK, Jan 3: Police on Thursday arrested three persons on charge of gang-rape of a woman in a tea garden in Jhapa.
Those arrested are Ashish Darnal, 19, Sandeep Darji, 17, and Sachin Bhattarai, also 17. Police said other culprits are at large.
According to police inspector Hari Khatiwada, the youths raped the woman, forcibly taking her into the tea garden at 6 pm Wednesday.
The victim was chatting with a male friend at the culvert of the local Dhardharekhola when the gang came, beat up her friend and took her under control.
The police started their search for the woman after the youth informed the police about the incident.
