KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Global IME Bank has opened its 63rd branch office in Tatopani, Sindhupalchowk. The office was inaugurated by Bhaskar Raj Rajkarnikar, senior vice president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), the bank said in a statement Thursday.
"We hope the opening of the branch office near the Nepal-China border will facilitate trade between the two countries," the statement quoted Chandra Prasad Dhakal, chairman of the bank, as saying. Opened six years ago, the bank currently has a depositor base of 300,000. It has so far collected Rs 28.50 billion in deposits and extended Rs 24 billion in loans.
The bank also has 60 ATMs and four extension counters.
Citizens Bank branchless banking in 7 places
KATHMANDU: Citizens Bank International has launched branchless banking service in seven more places of the country. Issuing a statement the bank said it has introduced the service in Dudhrash of Dang, Beltar of Udayapur, Beldandi of Kanchanpur, Kohalbi and Dumarwana of Bara, and Mahankal and Chalnakhel of Kirtipur. The bank had previously launched similar services in 11 places of the country.
