CHITWAN, Jan 12: An elderly has been trampled to death by wild tusker in Chitwan on Saturday.
According to Tikaram Poudel, assistant warden of Chitwan National Park (CNP), the wild tusker killed Sukadev BK,70, in Patihani VDC near Madi area of the district.
Poudel however said the infamous elehpant Dhurbhe might not have involvement in the killing. "We are not fully sure but this can be the work of some other elephant.
Dhurbhe doesn´t roam around this area," said Poudel. "Another tusker locally named Ronaldo has been found wandering in Sauraha and Khorsar area. So this elephant could have done this," added Poudel.
Havoc had spread among the locals of Madi area of Gardi VDC after Dhurbe killed four people in a row within a few weeks recently. Although CNP administration has been searching for Dhrube, the efforts have so far not borne fruit.
"While we are still searching for Dhurbe, this recent killing outside Madi area has doubled our work," said Poudel.
