KATHMANDU, Jan 14: In the press meet leading up to the Hero 16th Hits FM Music Awards on January 18, the headlining acts for the event were revealed.
Robin Sharma, Monkey Temple, Reema Gurung Hoda, Robin and The New Revolution and Jems Pradhan, amongst others, will be adding to the musical atmosphere at Nepal Army Officer’s Club in Tundikhel next Friday.

The artists will entertain the audience with a medley of songs. Audiences will be able to see Monkey Temple perform their song ‘Anumati’ which has been nominated in a number of categories. Robin and The New Revolution will be presenting ‘Hamro Desh’ for the audience. This song by the rock band has been nominated in two categories this year.



The sweet voice of Reema Gurung Hoda will be serenading the crowd with ‘Chiso Chiso.’ Nominated in six categories, singer and composer Jems Pradhan will be livening up from the stage with ‘Ankhama Lukaun Ki.’ A special song for the Lifetime Achievement Award will be performed by Robin Sharma.

“Hits FM Music Awards is a way of acknowledging and paying tributes to excellence in the field of Nepali music,” states the press release. Hits FM has been involved in promoting artists in the Nepali music industry through the medium of radio ever since the inception of Hits FM 91.2 in April 1996. It was in 1997 that Hits FM 91.2 initiated, established and hosted the first ever Hits FM Music Awards with seven categories. Since then, the grand ceremony has totaled up to 20 categories, including Lifetime Achievement Award.

The award ceremony is set to go live on Nepal Television and will also be on air on Hits FM 91.2 starting at 3pm.
